Bodog Casino and Poker Room Review

Bodog’s online casino and poker room are two different software downloads, but the cashier transfers over for both. If you sign up for one, your account is active on the other, all you have to do is download the software. Funds deposited on either the casino or the poker room are available in both. They offer a 10% automatic first deposit bonus, so rather than having to accumulate points, as is the case with many online casinos and online poker rooms, you receive your cash bonus for the first deposit the instant you complete the transaction.

Bodog Casino

Bodog Casino is a rather fun online casino to play at. You can find just about any casino game you can imagine, including a wide variety of slots and progressive slots with which you can play while you’re doing other things, (thanks to the auto play feature.) The craps table features great graphics and an easy interface as does the roulette table. The payouts are as good as you can hope for from any online casino, offering some of the highest payoff odds available.

Bodog Poker Room

Bodog’s poker room is a great place to play online poker. Not so much because of the interface, or even the graphics for that matter. In fact, the graphics leave plenty to be desired. What makes Bodog’s poker room fun is the players. This is a great poker room for any shark who knows how to take advantage of a fish. There aren’t as many players at any given time as there might be on poker rooms such as Full Tilt, or Poker Stars, but you don’t seem to find nearly as many dangerous players on these tables. So you may find it easier to win money here.

Cash games are the most popular with this poker room, but there are plenty of SnG and scheduled tournaments available as well. One thing you can find on Bodog’s poker room that is not found in most other poker rooms is the game 5-card stud. So extra points to Bodog Poker for that, though there don’t often seem to be many players interested in the game, it is available for those who do like 5-card stud.

Beat the Joker in Bwin Poker’s Sit & Go Promo

In most games of No Limit Hold’em the joker is removed from the deck before play, as it has no bearing on the game. But even though there’s still no joker in the deck in the Bwin Poker The Joker Sit & Go Tournaments, the joker has everything to do with the game. Just not in the way you may think.

In The Joker Tournaments at Bwin Poker, prizes are not necessarily awarded according to performance, or at least not to best performance. Sure, 1st place gets the big prize, but second prize doesn’t go to second place, but rather to fifth place, and third prize, similarly, doesn’t go to third place but to ninth place.

For the next month, until July 25, Bwin Poker is holding The Joker promotion, a Sit & Go freeroll tournament, each one with a $1,000 prize pool along with $1,000 added to a weekly tournament leaderboard.

These 10 seater Sit & Gos have a $2.20 buy-in and start players out with 1,500 in starting chips with a Turbo schedule in which blinds go up every 3 minutes.

Even those players who aren’t able to finish any The Joker tournaments in the money are still given another opportunity to win, with the I Lost The Joker Freeroll in which players can compete for a share of a $1K weekly guaranteed prize pool. These I Lost The Joker consolation freeroll tournaments happen on Saturday’s until July 24 at 17:00 GMT.

Just like in the prize structure for the actual Joker Sit & Gos, the weekly leaderboard will be awarded the same, with prizes going to 1st, 5th, and 9th in the same ratios of 50%, 30%, and 20%, respectively.

In the case of these $1,000 prize pools, that breaks down to $500 for 1st place, $300 for 2nd place, and $100 for 3rd place.

Poker Kings is holding online satellite tournaments awarding free seats in the upcoming Scottish Poker Open.

Six players in all will win Scottish Poker Open prize packages through Poker Kings satellites. On May 23, 2010 two of those seats were awarded. The next four will be awarded, two at a time, at PokerKing’s Scottish Poker Open finals on June 20 and July 18. In order to land yourself a seat in one of these two remaining finals, you could either pay the €250 + €20 direct buy-in or you could satellite your way in through any of Poker Kings weekly finals, with their direct buy-ins of €28 + €2. You could even win your seat in the weekly finals through one of Poker Kings daily satellites for buy-ins of either €1 + €0.10 or €3.00 + €0.30.

There is one other way to qualify for the June 20 and July 18 Scottish Poker Open Online Final Satellite, and that is through one of PokerKings’ daily €11 Scottish Super Satellites, which award players direct entry into one of the two events.

The Scottish Poker Open will be held from August 6 to 8 in Glasgow’s Alea Casino. The Poker Kings Scottish Poker Open prize package includes the £2,500 + £250 buy-in for the main event, 3 nights accommodations for 2 in one of the Crowne Plaza Hotel’s luxurious Deluxe Club Rooms, and at least €500 for travel expenses (exact amount based on exchange rates). All told, the PokerKings Scottish Poker Open prize package is worth an estimated €5,000.

It’s a good old-fashioned Texas showdown (Texas Holdem, that is). Because when they say Country Showdown, Bwin Poker is not talking about the Midwest of the United States. They’re talking about the countries around the world being represented in the Bwin Poker Weekly Country Showdown of poker, an ongoing promotion of national pride running every week on Monday nights.

Bwin Poker’s Weekly Country Showdown is a country restricted event, which means that you can only play in the event for your country and therefore will only be competing against your fellow countrymen (and women) for the title of best online poker player in your country for that week.

Each event in the Bwin Poker Weekly Country Showdown is a No Limit Texas Holdem event with a $3+ $0.30 buy-in and a prize pool, depending on the number of entrants, of up to $3,000, though guaranteed to be at least $300. All events are rebuy tournaments and add-on tournaments.

Each country’s event has a different name and scheduled time. The participating countries, and the names of their respective Bwin Poker Weekly Country Showdown events, are listed (alphabetically) below. But you must check the Bwin Poker site itself for the exact time for your country.
